[Custom Map] Oceanside

Hey!

I made the oceanside map, and would love some feedback. Tell me both what works and what doesn't.

The idea behind the map is to give the intruders the freedom to approach the house from almost any direction. I also wanted to mix mid range combat in the garden and rock areas with super close quarters combat inside the house.

Awesome map, love the car, and the RobStorm Dragon, just needs some more light, a day and night variant, at least 1 grenade, cuz peeps be throwing c4 and using the stick to use as a nade, but a really good map!

Great map, only thing I can suggest at least 2 pairs of binocs for intruders at their spawn. Also no grenades, the default equipment is nice right now.

2 binocs for the intruders have been added in the latest version, also fixed a bug with walking through the tunnel walls...

I feel it's a bit strange when doors in the house going from room to room are locked by default. Maybe doors leading outside-inside are the only ones locked?

Sometimes the clipping on the rocks feel weird, like I get stuck.

+1 for bios

The lighting in the garage looks weird and harsh, but is a nice touch.

Maybe make it so the yellow car would start if you hit v on it, it would have to make less noise than the truck but enough so guards could be fooled into thinking the code was entered.

Great work on Oceanside, SteelRaven7!!! Some feedback:

- The dark areas are REALLY dark. Rarely is a pure-black area in a map actually fun, unless the game has flashlights (hint, hint, Rob).

- I also got stuck in some of the rocks up near the zip line. You can add extra collision objects to help smooth those spots out.

- The moving truck is totally awesome!!!

Had an issue where one briefcase spawned in the room below the bed. The other briefcase spawned above the truck at the outside cap point. Not sure how to replicate this bug or if it will ever happen again.

I've done a few iterative updates to the level now, here are the main changes:

  • Made the keycode paper more visible
  • Added some invisible colliders that hopefully should prevent people getting stuck at rocks on zipline side.
  • Replaced one intruder c4 with grenade, they now have one each. Should remove c4 jumping entirely. Not sure if the nade thing is going to work, but let's try it.
  • A few more props to give more hiding spots inside.
  • Some more cover by crevace capture point. Should make it harder to cover both capture points as a guard.

Would love to get some feedback on balance issues with the intruder grenade, and wether or not there needs to be more paths to the crevace capture point. Do you guys use it at all?

Thanks for putting a rock in the front corner of the map. It makes it easier to jump through the window over the staircase. I used to shoot the tall window next to it and crouch jump into it. Its nice too see I wasn't the only one who though of that.
