So today, I had an amazing experience teaching 3 new players some of the basic strategies to win in Intruder, as well as a few tips and tricks, in sort of a hands-on classlike environment.
The satisfaction of seeing them apply my teachings (slightly organized into lessons) in a real game was awesome. In fact, it felt so great that I intend from now on to basically teach any new player I see who is having a bit of trouble. Because of this, I would like to arrange bigger teaching sessions with groups of new players.
In the coming days I will arrange a progressive lesson plan for the easy teaching of any new player, or any player that wants to hear my ideas and my strategies, in a hands-on environment, working from the most basic routes and ways to go unseen, to complicated team-based strategies. If you're a new player and you want to learn the basics, or if you're a veteran and want to hear a different point of view, post in this thread (or PM me) and we'll see about arranging some classes!
Things I hope to go over in each class (no particular order, though when the lesson plan is done there will be a specific order to it):
- Tools and Controls (for the newest players)
i. Common Calls (to be discussed during each part)
ii. Base tours for understanding the lingo
- Routes (Intruder)
i. Bridge (Includes Roof)
ii. Garden (Includes Break Room)
iii. Water (Elevator and Elevator Shaft Vents)
iv. Vents - Server Room
v. Vents - Bathroom
vi. Vents - Sample Room
- Stealing the Package
i. Garden/Server Room/Garden
ii. Water/Server Room/Water
iii. Vents/Server Room/Garden
iv. Garden/Lab A/Garden
v. Water/Lab A/Water
vi. Vents/Lab A/Vents
vii. How to get through a Rig
i. Lab A
ii. Server Room
i. Lab A
ii. Server Room
ii. Lab B
i. When to do it
ii. When NOT to do it
- Application (A few real games, me playing on each side once or twice giving tips and reminders to the team)
- More Complicated Strategies (within and outside of application)
i. Vents/Server Room/Vents
ii. Server Room Vents/Server Room Door Raid
iii. Camera Stick
iv. Gas vs. Smoke
v. etc, etc.
There is most likely more stuff that I have not written here. If there is anything glaringly obvious that I have missed, say so here. Looking forward to teaching some of you newer players.
